Darshan Academies Celebrate Independence Day

To commemorate and honour India’s Independence Day, Darshan Academies celebrated the special event with great enthusiasm and fervor during special assemblies and programmes. Students and staff sang the national anthem, performed role plays, and gave speeches. Students and staff expressed their views on the history and significance of Independence Day. They shared inspirational quotes on freedom and expressed their thoughts on what freedom meant to them. Students sang and danced to songs reflecting the rich heritage of India and recited a rainbow of poems. The schools were beautifully decorated in the tri colours of the Indian flag, and shades of white, green and orange were also reflected in the radiant costumes worn by the performing students. The programs were a heartfelt treat for all. Independence Day is celebrated on 15 August to mark the day India gained independence in 1947.

Cleanliness Drive, Dasuya

Darshan Academy Dasuya organized a cleanliness drive on 26 July, 2019. The main purpose of this programme was to create awareness among the students as well as society regarding cleanliness and its benefits. Under this programme, all the students from 6th to 12th class participated in the cleanliness drive. Students, accompanied by teachers, went to Pandav Sarovar, Railway station, Garna Shaib and Kehra Sahib. The.student’s effort were appreciated by the local residents for making the surroundings clean and beautiful and felt motivated to do the same.

Health Checkup Camp, Dasuya

“A healthy mind resides in a healthy body.” Focusing on the health and wellbeing of the child, a health checkup camp was organized at Darshan Academy Dasuya on 10 August 2019. HOD dental department, Dr. Gulwinder Singh, Dr. Varun Nayyar, Dr. Raman and Dr. Khushwakat along with child specialist Dr. Rajwant Kaur examined the students and advised them on health and hygiene. Darshan Academy conducts the regular health checkups of all the students twice a year.

Darshan Academy Regional Mathematics and EVS Workshops for Teachers, Pune

Darshan Academy, Pune hosted Regional Workshops for Darshan Academy Mathematics and EVS Teachers of Grades I to V on 2 August, 2019. Participants from DA Devlali and DA Pune attended. Mrs. Rangoli Saxena, Principal, welcomed all the participants. The event began with an inspiring video spiritual discourse by Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj, followed by meditation. Mrs. Saxena, Principal, presented a motivational speech highlighting the use of multiple intelligence learning styles to teach students effectively. Mrs. Preeti Mandle discussed approaches to make Math classes more interactive, interesting and how to employ cooperative learning. Ms. Manisha Patil stressed activity-based learning and the positive use of the Math laboratory. Mr. Milind Deshmukh highlighted methods to make a class more interactive and interesting. Ms. Sunitha Sachdewa showcased the development of content and teaching techniques. Participants presented best classroom practices through interactive demo lessons using teaching aids and hands-on activities. The workshop ended with an open discussion session and participants sharing their positive feedback about the fruitful workshops.

Save Shivalik, Save Earth Seminar, Dasuya

Darshan Academy, Dasuya organized an environmental seminar on 25 July 2019. The seminar was conducted by Save Shivalik Save Earth association, which has done a great deal in planting trees and preserving the Shivalik Mountain Range. The guest speakers emphasized the role of the younger generations in maintaining an ecological balance and protecting the earth. They motivated the students to plant trees and made the students aware of the need to build a greener world. DA Dasuya Principal, Rasik Gupta, stressed the need to change our lifestyle and how each person can take care of our earth.
