We don’t own the Earth. We are the Earth’s caretakers…We take care of it and all the things on it. When we’re done with it, IT should be left better than we found it.
-Katherine Hannigan
Pre-primary students of D.A. Pune celebrated Earth Day with a lot of enthusiasm. Various activities were conducted, such as a nature walk and hand printing. Scientific and common names of the flowering plants were shown on a movable plant nursery thela. They learnt the names of the poinsettia, rose cactus, periwinkle, gerbera jasmine, and roses of all hues and colors. They understood why plants are essential for survival and what they give us. Thus, they were advised to protect the plants and trees, reduce pollution, and save water. This activity was conducted to bring awareness amongst tiny tots to preserve Earth’s natural resources for future generations.
