Young Minds at Play

In keeping with the ethos of learning by doing our tiny tots of the nursery class engaged in a pattern making activity. The primary goal of this activity is to help children recognize and create patterns using simple shapes and sticks. This exercise also aims to enhance fine motor and cognitive skills, hand-eye coordination, and letter recognition, all essential components of early childhood. During this hands-on activity each child was given a set of ice cream sticks and shapes along with a piece of construction paper. Creativity is unleashed  when children use their imagination to create unique patterns, fostering problem-solving skills on their learning journey.
Apart from introducing the little ones to shapes and patterns, children observe and discuss patterns they see around the classroom. Associating patterns with letters can enhance early reading and writing abilities.
